ITEMS FOR COMMISSION’S REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION FOR APPROVAL TO CITY COUNCIL 1. Recommend approval to negotiate and execute a contract with Duke’s Root Control Inc., to provide application of diquat dibromide for root control, for a term of three years in an amount not to exceed $240,000. 2. Recommend approval to award and execute a contract with Alltech Engineering Corp, to provide bar rack removal and re-installation, in an amount not to exceed $230,000. 3. Recommend approval to negotiate and execute a multi-term contract with American YouthWorks, to provide environmentally sustainable landscaping services through a youth environmental stewardship program, for up to five years for a total contract amount not to exceed $2,500,000. This is a multi-department contract. Austin Water’s requested authorization is $250,000. 4. Recommend approval to negotiate and execute multiple cooperative contracts through the Local Government Purchasing Cooperative, administered by Texas Association of School Boards Inc. (Buyboard), for the rental of medium and heavy-duty pneumatic rollers, milling machines and other heavy-duty equipment, for a term of 34 months in an amount not to exceed $892,000 divided among the contractors. This is a multi-department contract. Austin Water’s requested authorization is $322,000.
Recommend approval to negotiate and execute a professional services agreement with Black & Veatch Corporation (staff recommendation) or one of the other qualified responders for Request for Qualifications Solicitation No. CLMP245 to provide engineering services for the McNeil Road Water Transmission Main in amount not to exceed $3,800,000. Recommend approval to award and execute a construction contract with Austin Underground, Inc., for the Burleson Road Pressure Conversion project in the amount of $2,259,751.25 plus a $225,975.13 contingency, for a total contract amount not to exceed $2,485,726.38. (Districts 2 & 3)
Recommend approval of an ordinance adopting the Amended and Restated Strategic Partnership Agreement (Amended SPA) between the City and the Cascades Municipal Utility District (MUD), and regarding full purpose annexation of the MUD (approximately 136 acres in southern Travis County east of IH-35 South approximately four-tenths of a mile south of the intersection of IH-35 South and Onion Creek Parkway; Council District 5).
